The Inspector General program reviews subordinate units for compliance and reports the findings to the commander, receives and investigates complaints, and insures that CAP personnel are using reasonable means to work within the system.  IG also oversees the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse prevention program.

The New Mexico Wing Inspector General is LtCol Sharon Lane.  LtCol Lane maintains a list of people who assist her in unit inspections.  This list allows changes to each functional area, since the evaluators are also members of squadrons and may be inspected themselves.
